Please join with us in prayer for Calvary Chapel alumni Morgan McIntosh as he begins the first day of competition at the 2012 NCAA Wrestling National Finals tournament in St. Louis, Missouri.

Morgan is the 197lb representative for the defending National Champion Penn State Nittany Lions.

Please pray for him: to have fun competing in this prestigious tournament, to maximize his potential, and to open up his offense on the mat.
Please also pray that his coaches (Cael Sanderson, Cody Sanderson, and Casey Cunningham) would know the peace of God as they lead their team into the toughest wrestling tournament in the world.

Congratulations to Morgan McIntosh for winning his 4th Consecutive Southern Section Masters Title.  Morgan recorded 2 falls, a technical fall, and a major decision on his way to achieving this historic feat.  Morgan becomes the second man in the Southern Section Masters tournament history to earn 4 championship titles in 4 years – a feat last accomplished 30 years ago by Iowa  standout Marty Kistler (Notre Dame: 1978-81)

Calvary Chapel captured its second consecutive Southern Section title.

Morgan McIntosh (189) and William Knowles (215) won their fourth consecutive section titles, with Gordon McDonald placing eighth at 103.  Knowles was selected the Upper Weight MVP, winning four matches by fall and another by technical fall.  ”I’m really proud of the boys for winning this (title),” Calvary Chapel coach Arsen Aleksanyan said. “It was team effort. I’m very proud of back-to-back Masters championships.”"

Come out and make some noise as these perennial Southern California powerhouses battle it out at the 2011 “Iron Sharpens Iron” classic.
This dual showcases the best of two great wrestling dynasties battling it out for cross-town braggin’ rights.  The “Iron Sharpens Iron” classic spans as far back as 1994, when Santa Ana Coach Scott Glabb and Calvary Chapel Coach John Azevedo forged what would become one of the most competitive and highly anticipated rivalries in Orange County.  Bring the whole family out to enjoy the light show, raging sound system, and the finest in Southern California wrestling.

Congratulations to our Churchboyz for another excellent showing at the prestigious  5 Counties invitational tournament.

Both Morgan McIntosh and Tank Knowles exhibited dominant performances throughout the tournament, underscored by big wins in the championship finals under the lights.  On a side note, Morgan’s 4th appearance in the 5 Counties finals puts him amongst a small number of elite wrestlers to achieve this honor.
The Calvary wrestling team was still able to achieve a respectable 4th place finish, despite not having PJ Palacios in the line-up at 119s due to injury.

Walsh Ironman 2009 on Flowrestling

After a fantastic season opener out at Quartz Hills, the Churchboyz travel out to the prestigious 2010 Walsh Ironman tournament at Walsh Jesuit High School in Akron Ohio on December 10th through 11th, 2010.  Tank Knowles is looking to repeat his championship performance of the 215lb weight class.  Morgan McIntosh will get his first opportunity at the Ironman to show the East Coast and Midwest what California wrestling is all about.  The two are joined by an able crew of underclassmen that are poised and ready to make some noise at this historically tough national-level competition.  Please be praying for the Churchboyz, and be sure to check back here for updates.
