History

The Churchboyz tradition spans nearly two decades and has produced many of our country’s finest wrestlers and coaches. Founded in 1990, the team began to distinguish itself among other programs in Orange County, in Califiornia, and in the United States under the coaching of Olympic Wrestler John Azevedo.  Since then, the Churchboyz have won seven California State Titles and has been consistently ranked among the top high school wrestling teams in the USA (as high as 2nd by USA today).  Countless Churchboyz have gone on to wrestle for, and graduate from top NCAA Division I colleges—Harvard, Stanford, Oklahoma State, Minnesota, Michigan, Michigan State, Annapolis, and the United States Air Force Academy to name just a few.  Currently, nine Churchboyz are excelling at Division I wrestling programs.  The Lord has truly blessed these athlete’s hard work over the years, and we constantly pray for his continued blessing.
